Families Flee Israeli Attacks and Seek Refuge in Lebanon’s Mountains

Amid escalating clashes in the region, dozens of families are abandoning their homes to escape attacks attributed to Israel, finding improvised shelter in the mountainous areas of Lebanon. The mass flight highlights the level of fear and desperation among civilians trying to survive far from the hardest-hit zones.

Local reports indicate that villages near the border have been severely affected, forcing residents to walk for hours across steep and difficult terrain. With little transportation and few belongings, many continue on foot in search of locations considered safer in the mountains.

Humanitarian organizations warn of rapidly deteriorating living conditions for these displaced families. The lack of clean water, food, and proper shelter further worsens the situation, especially for children and the elderly who face cold weather and exhaustion.

Meanwhile, local authorities are attempting to coordinate emergency efforts to provide basic assistance, but access to the mountainous areas makes aid delivery extremely challenging. Poor infrastructure and the constant risk of new bombardments complicate any rapid response.

The humanitarian crisis continues to deepen as the clashes persist, leaving civilians trapped between the fear of violence and uncertainty about when they will be able to return home. For many, the mountains of Lebanon have become a last refuge amid the chaos of the conflict.
